Policies and Procedures

Billing Date:We bill on the 10th of each month
Due Date:All payments are due on the 1st of each month
Payments:Acceptable methods of payment are cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express
Late Charges:All payments received after the 15th of each month will incur a late charge of 1.5% of your current balance
Termination of Service:Once an account becomes past due the service may be terminated, with or without notice
Reactivation Fees:To re-activate service you must send in the balance due on account, a $10.00 activation fee, and one month service
Rental Equipment:When service has been disconnected due to non-payment, all rental equipment must be returned to Handy Page. If equipment is not returned within 10 days of disconnection, equipment value and collection charges will be added to your account. The account will then be forwarded to a collection agency
NSF/Returned Items:All returned items will be charged $25.00 if the item is cleared within a reasonable amount of time. An additional $25.00 will be added if the item is forwarded to the collection agency

Check the data for accuracy:

  • You must be 18 or over
  • Personal or Company Name
  • Physical and Billing address
  • Telephone Number
  • Contact name and/or Purchase order number
  • Agent name or Account number
  • Customer signature and Printed name
  • Social security number or Federal tax ID number
  • Date
  • Loss/Replacement is available for this pager unit. 

    If you choose this option you will be billed $25.00 /pager 

    annually, this will give you a $50.00 deductible towards the 

    price of the pager should you loose or break it.

Shipping Information

Customers should receive the following items 
when signing up for service:
 
  • Pager with Pager Manual

  • Pager Operator Manual

  • A copy of signed contract

  • Coverage Map

  • Paging instruction sheet / 

    Customized greeting instructions

  • Policy and Procedure sheet

  • VITAL:  cap code, serial, and phone number 

    (please keep this info on file for your own convenience)

When shipping:

  • Turn pager off before shipping

  • Pack pager in a secure box, Do not ship in an envelope

  • ENCLOSE A COMPLETED SINGLE OR MULTIPLE 

    REPAIR FORM IN THE BOX
    If there is no repair form or paper saying the reason it was 

    shipped, then:  The pager if ours, will be kept until we hear 

    from you. The pager if yours will be sent back with no 

    repair done.

  • If the pagers cap code has worn off, please enclose the 

        cap code #, the serial #, and the phone #.

  • When calling on status, Please refer to the tag number 

    (assigned by us), Pager number, or Serial number

  • Call pager, dial 0 during the pre-recorded message.

  • Enter the 4 digit predestinated pass code. 

  • Press "8" to get into the greeting menu.

  • Press "1" to record your greeting.

  • Start your greeting at the beep.

  • Speak slow and clear.

  • You have 10 seconds for your greeting.

  • All dead air will be removed.

  • Press "2" to playback your greeting

  • Or "3" to re-record your greeting.

Page Recall

To retrieve pages while you are out of the area:

  • Call pager and press"0" during the welcome prompt.
  • Press "1" to retrieve saved messages.
  • After hearing each message and its time to stamp: 
    • press "3" to erase, 
    • "5" to keep message, 
    • "7" to play message again, 
    • "8" to hear the time the message was received.
  • The system will inform you there are no more messages.

Quick Mail

  • Call pager, dial '0' during the pre-recorded message.

  • Enter the designated 4 digit pass code.

  • Press "8" to get into the greeting menu.

  • Press "4" to record your greeting:

    • you will be prompted to start your greeting at the beep. 

    • Speak slow and clear. 

    • You will have 10 seconds to leave your greeting. 

    • All dead air will be removed.

  • Press "5" to playback your greeting. 

  • Press "6" to re-record your greeting.

To retrieve your Quickmail messages:

  • Do steps 1-2 (in quickmail).

  • Press "1" to retrieve quickmail messages.

  • After hearing each message and its time to stamp: 

    • Press "3" to erase, 

    • Press "5" to keep message, 

    • Press "7" to play message again, 

    • Press "8" to hear the time the message was received.

  • The system will inform you there are no more messages.

Activating Options

You must request options with Handy Page 

and select a new 4 digit pass code.

 

  • Call your pager, and press "0" during the welcome prompt.

  • Enter your 4 digit pass code when asked.

  • Choose from the options below, just press the appropriate #. 

    • Option selections:

      • "2" normal paging operations

      • "3" paging recall

      • "4" quickmail only (no page)

      • "5" quickmail with page

      • "6" announce only (no paging/message)

      • "7" current option verification

      • "9" call forward (pager to pager)

      • "0" help

      • "#" terminate call

Useful Information

Review this important information:

  • Most common problems on the pagers are due to the battery.

  • Test the pager with a new alkaline battery only.

  • Most common problems occurring due to low battery are:

    • When the pager does NOT RECEIVE a message.

    • When the LIGHT does not function. 

    • When the VIBRATOR does not function.

    • When the #'s are mixed with letters or shows ERROR. 

    • When the OUT OF RANGE indicator is on (if N/A).
